    The History Of BBCP

     

     

    Although established in 2009, Belle Banne Conveyor Products’ roots can be traced back to the 60’s. The BBCP team boasts over 60 years combined employee experience in the materials handling industry in both Australia and abroad. This rich heritage ensures a deep understanding of conveyor needs.

     

    The Belle Banne®  brand has become synonymous with high performance. The original product, a leader for over three decades, continues to outperform imitators in key areas like effectiveness, durability, and overall value.

     

     

     

    1969

    • The first Belle Banne® branded cleaner, developed by Nippon Tsusho is installed in WA Iron Ore Mine.

    1972

    • Introduced “H” and “R” cleaners and started export through Mitsui.
    • Peter Abercrombie joins Mitsui Sydney.

    1976

    • Mitsui imports first cleaners to Australia and sells directly to iron ore and coal mines.

    1979

    • 1st major distributor appointed – Rubberflex Sydney owned by Ted Barnes.

     

    1980

    • Rubberflex sold to BTR (subsequently Apex Belting) with Ted Barnes remaining as MD in Sydney.

     

     

    1983

    • Belle Banne Australia (BBA) Pty Ltd established in Sydney as the sole distributor of Belle Banne®  Cleaners.

     

    1985

    • New “U” Cleaner from Japan introduced to the market. This revolutionary cleaner design by Nippon Tsusho becomes the highest performing secondary cleaner on the market. 
    • Pit Top Mining (now Valley Longwall International) and Belle Banne Newcastle (now Convatech) established as joint ventures with BBA. Ultimately both JV’s became independent distributors for Belle Banne®  products.

     

    1990

    • Belle Banne Victoria (BBV) established by Peter Abercrombie.

     

    1991

    • Flexible Steel Lacing (FSL) purchases majority share in Belle Banne Australia

     

    1995

    • Peter Abercrombie sells Belle Banne Victoria and joins Belle Banne Australia as GM. Matt Mayers starts at Belle Banne Australia.

     

    1996

    • Ted Barnes retires from BBA and FSL buys remaning shares.

     

     

     

    2004

    • FSL changes name of Belle Banne Australia to Flexco Australia and ceases imports of all Japanese products except “U” Cleaners.

     

    2008

    • FSL ends all supply relationships with Nippon Tsusho and ceases the importation of genuine Belle Banne® products.

     

    2009

    • Matt Mayers and Peter Abercrombie establish Belle Banne Conveyor Products (BBCP) as exclusive distributor of all Nippon Tsusho products.

     

    2012

    • BBCP is appointed the Australian agent for CAI mechanical belt fasteners.

     

    2014

    • Daniel Weekes joins BBCP as Managing Director.
    • FRAS approval for BBCP lagging.

     

    2019

    • BBCP awarded BHP South Flank idler supply contract.

     

    2020

    • BBCP sets up branch in Welshpool, WA.
    • BBCP commences polyurethane manufacturing in Sydney. FRAS polyurethane approved.

     

    2023

    • CNC router installed for manufacture of outrigger pads
